Reybroek Barristers Peewee 'A' Stars take Sudbury by Storm
The Stars faced off against the Sudbury Wolves, Walden Devils and West Ferris Trappers in round robin play and came away with two wins and a tie, as they outscored their opponents 16-7. After handily winning their semi-final game, Uxbridge found themselves in an exciting re-match with the West Ferris AA team for the Championship. At the end of thirty-eight minutes of regulation time, just as they were previously, the two teams were deadlocked. With two goals a piece, the teams went to overtime. The excitement built as the teams started at 4-on-4 for two minutes and continued down to 1-on-1. Coming up big for the Peewee team were Carter Turnbull in net with some huge saves and Braedon Kuhne (2g,3a) who scored the game-winner for the Stars.
The rest of the Peewee team who worked hard as a team for their gold medal are forwards Paul Kerrigan (5g,2a), Tyler Orschel (2g,6a), Chris Pett (1g), Tyler Stinson (1g,2a), Zachary Urquhart (2g,2a), Jesse Webber (3a), Brennan Wiles (1a), and Alex Williamson (8g,2a), blue liners Malcolm Barton (1a), Tristan Hanna (1g,2a), Jamie Kernohan (1g), Brett Oor (1g), and Sam Stirling (1g) and goaltender John Reybroek (2w). These young men are coached by Mark Kernohan, Erin Oor, and Eric Orschel, along with trainer Mark Kuhne and managers Wayne and Hilda Barton. Special thanks to Tom Turnbull for organizing this tournament.
